GTA brings together researchers and operational meteorologists from SMN and CONICET with complementary expertise across atmospheric science. The group includes specialists in remote sensing, synoptic meteorology, Antarctic climatology, aircraft meteorology and numerical weather prediction, together with an experienced forecasting team. This combination of research and operations is one of GTA’s main strengths. Our forecasters provide the operational backbone for field campaigns, helping to connect scientific objectives with real-time atmospheric conditions, logistics and decision-making. The same interaction also supports the transfer of research toward applications and final users. By working across observations, modelling, forecasting and climate analysis, GTA provides a common framework for studying atmospheric processes from fundamental turbulence to operational meteorology.
